Jonathan Rafael-Weis

Jonathan Rafael-Weis is a graduate screenwriting student at the Aarhus-based film school Super8.

He holds a Master of Arts in Film and Media Studies and has written a handful of shorts, some of which have wandered their way into international film festivals. He wrote and directed ‘In the Sun’, which was selected for the official program at Odense Film Festival 2024.

He also wrote ‘The Harvest’, which screened at Odense Film Festival 2025 and is nominated for the New Nordic Voice Award at Nordisk Panorama 2025.

As a writer, Jonathan is drawn to cultural conflicts, generational clashes, and the friction between traditional and modern life, often with a focus on the loneliness shaped by our digital age.
