Keld Haaning

Composer, Music educator, and Musical director

Keld Haaning is a Danish composer, Music educator, and Musical director who, in 2010, became the first person to earn a master’s degree in film composition from a Danish conservatory of music.
Since then, he has worked on a wide range of film and television productions in Denmark, Sweden, England, France, and the United States.

The essence of his music lies in creating atmosphere and imagery, which has led to his work being featured by broadcasters and streaming services such as DR (Danish Broadcasting Corporation), TV 2, Viaplay, and Netflix.
His talent for using music to shape space and support storytelling has also been showcased in theatre productions at Aarhus Teater, Teater Svalegangen, Odense Teater, and Syddjurs Egnsteater.

In 2008, he received the KODA Dramatik Award for Revue Composer of the Year.

His music spans from joyful family moments to dark tales of serial killers – from warm sunshine and lyrical poetry to deep despair and cold calculation.
Rooted in classical traditions, his compositions also draw heavily on electronic techniques to create unique and contemporary soundscapes – music that, above all, tells stories.
