Louise Vesth is one of Denmark’s most prominent film producers. She graduated from The National Film School of Denmark in 2001, the same year she started working for Zentropa. In 2011, Louise Vesth produced Lars von Trier’s Melancholia, and since then she has been the producer of all Trier’s films, including Nymphomaniac Vol. 1 & 2 (2013), The House that Jack Built (2018), and the third and final installment of the legendary series, The Kingdom – The Kingdom Exodus (2022).
She produced the first four films in the massively successful Department Q series from 2013 to 2018: The Keeper of Lost Causes (2013), The Absent One (2014), A Conspiracy of Faith (2016), and The Purity of Vengeance (2018). As she was also behind the Danish blockbuster comedy Klown in 2010, she is the producer behind five of the biggest Danish box office hits of the last decade.
Among the more than 25 titles that Louise Vesth has worked on, she also produced the first 60 episodes of the tv show that led to the film version of Klown. Other notable producer credits include Nikolaj Arcel’s Oscar-nominated A Royal Affair (2012) with Mads Mikkelsen and Alicia Vikander in the leading roles, and Arcel’s
The Promised Land (2023), Peter SchønauFog’s You Disappear (2016), and Christoffer Boe’s romantic drama A Taste of Hunger (2021).
