How do you fictionalize the life of a woman like Karen Blixen? A storyteller herself.
One of our greatest writers ever to have lived, with a great reputation and a massive fanbase. How do you tell her story without being met by numerous claims of “That is not how it went down!”, and “That’s not real!” from those who have read and loved her stories for years?
How do you create a series that people will enjoy, and maybe more importantly: accept. How do you declare the content so people know what to expect?
At THIS 2022, we are proud to present Dunja Gry Jensen, the creator behind the new Viaplay Originals series, The Dreamer – Becoming Karen Blixen (Drømmeren – Karen Blixen Bliver Til). She will join us on stage to tell us all about her work the last 4 years, working carefully on curating the life of Karen Blixen.
Dunja will reflect on her process and the challenges she faced along the way, as the vision came together and as it met the realities of production.
She will show us scenes from The Dreamer – Becoming Karen Blixen and explain, which choices were made and why.
