ViacomCBS – New Markets, New Players

Jesper Dahl, General Manager, Nordics, ViacomCBS Networks International

The forest of streaming services is growing more and more dense, and will continue to grow even more in early 2021, when ViacomCBS is launching Paramount + on the market in an expanded version – now as a standalone streaming service.

The service has existed in the Nordic region since 2017, where it launched in DK with the distributors Yousee and Canal Digital as partners. The expansion means adding a variety of exclusive new content from SHOWTIME and ViacomCBS’ other entertainment channels. Thus, ViacomCBS now gathers all its content in one streaming service under one of the most well-known brands in Hollywood: Paramount+.

Paramount+ will present a broad reaching catalog with children’s content, reality, drama productions, films and documentaries.

Meet host, Keld Reinicke, in conversation with Nordic Director of ViacomCBS, Jesper Dahl, about the future streaming landscape and how Paramount + will take up the fight with both established and new services.

Jesper Dahl has a long career in the TV industry, including at Canal Digital and MTV Networks. For the past 15 years he has worked at Viacom, where he has been the channel manager for Nickelodeon and Nordic distribution manager, to name a few. He became the Nordic Director on October 1, 2018.

ViacomCBS is behind the TV channels Nickelodeon, Paramount Network and VH1, among others.
