Johanna Runevad recently returned to her native Sweden after spending the past 15 years in in the Danish capital Copenhagen. During her time in Denmark, Johanna worked with both fiction and non-scripted content, culminating in her role as the head of development.

Her directorial debut came with the dramedy series ”Falkenberg Forever” (SVT, 2020), for which she penned all the scripts. It garnered widespread acclaim from critics and audiences alike, emerging as the most-watched show in its genre, both on broadcast and streaming platform. Karolina Fjellborg of Aftonbladet praised ”Falkenberg Forever,” stating, ”Sometimes, a new voice emerges seemingly out of nowhere, delivering a gem with perfect pitch at just the right moment. And that’s precisely what’s happening here.”

Johanna further demonstrated her creative skill as writer/director with the youth series ”Vi forever” (SVT, 2020), which enjoyed considerable success on streaming platforms.

 

Her latest endeavour, ”All and Eva,” marks Johanna’s most ambitious project yet. Serving not only as the creator of the show, but also script writer and director of all episodes, she continues to push artistic boundaries with her storytelling. The show was a huge success in Sweden. Critics and audience praised the show. And its now acclaimed ”series of the year”. The series is traveling across the world, and is already sold to multiple countries. All And Eva was nominated in Series Mania in Lille. And is now it´s running up for three nominations in Swedens biggest tv-award show.

Currently, Johanna is directing a feature film for Netflix, based on a best seller book in Sweden.
