Søren Sveistrup is co-founder and Executive Producer at SAM Productions ApS. Sveistrup is the creator and writer of the internationally acclaimed TV series The Killing (Forbrydelsen). The Killing played a key role in launching the now world-renowned Nordic Noir wave and set new standards for Nordic crime drama. A wave that his internationally acclaimed novel The Chestnut Man and its current serial adaptation for Netflix has set out to renew.
Earlier in his career Sveistrup worked on Danish classics like Taxa, Hotellet, Nikolaj & Julie and more recently he wrote the screenplay for the feature The Day Will Come and adapted the screenplay of The Snowman based on the acclaimed novel by Jo Nesbø.
Sveistrup has received both a BAFTA Award for Best International TV Series for The Killing and an International Emmy Award for Best International Drama Series for Nikolaj & Julie.
Søren Sveistrup will be joining The Chestnut Man – A Renewal of the Nordic Noir Genre at THIS SERIES 2021.
