Alec Thom is an Executive Producer at NRK Drama, the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation. He has previously worked as an in-house drama producer at NRK P3 and has a background as an editor and series developer on shows such as Emmy award winning Lik meg (Like me) and international success series SKAM (Shame). Through his work he has gained a unique expertise in drama aimed at a younger generation, while he has also worked with more traditional dramas such as Det tredje øyet (The Third Eye) and MELK (MILK).
NRK’s major drama initiatives are characterised by diversity in setting, location and casting. Several NRK series has won international awards, the following being examples from the last years: Mammon (International Emmy 2017 Best Drama Series), Nobel (Prix Europa 2016), Skam (Shame) (Prix Italy 2017), Heimebane (Home Ground) (Berlinale Series 2018), Lykkeland (State of Happiness) (Best drama Cannes series 2018), Exit (International Panorama 2019) and 22. juli (22. July) (Prix Europa 2020).
Alec Thom will be joining the signature session at Meet the Nordic Drama Bosses 2021 at THIS SERIES 2021.
