Kenneth Karlstad is a Norwegian film director and screenwriter doing TV drama and feature films.
His debut short film “The Hunger” (Gutten er sulten) earned him a Young Director Award at Cannes 2019, and won the Film Critics Award at The Norwegian Short Film Festival. He also won several awards for his work on music videos.
The drama series “Kids in Crime” is his long format debut, where he serves as both screenwriter and director. KIC won ‘the Norwegian Emmy’ Gullruten for Best Drama Series, Best direction, Best Cinematography and Best Supporting Actor (Jakob Oftebro), as well as The Nordic Film Fond Prize for Best Screenplay at Gothenburg Film Festival 2023.
