In this edition of THIS SERIES 2023, we bring a sharp focus back on the Nordic series industry by presenting some of the most socially relevant and culturally impactful series.
We highlight their strengths and discuss the challenges, they have faced to bring forth the lessons we can learn from each other.
“Kids in Crime” premiered in the fall of 2022 on TV 2 Norge, and it has since become one of their biggest succeses this year.
The series won the Nordisk Film & TV Fond’s Prize as Best Screenplay of a Nordic drama series as well as Best Drama Series and Best Supporting Actor at Gullruten 2023 Awards.
“Kids in Crime” is inspired by Scandinavian 90’s realism, and follows a group of teenagers and their descent into crime and drug dealing, which soon puts them in danger.
In this session we sit down with creator Kenneth Karlstad and actor Jakob Oftebro (Freddy Hell) to talk about their work with this unusual, but impactful coming-of-age youth drama.
