New Nordic Storytellers

SESSION

At THIS SERIES, Lisa Ambjörn, Amalie Næsby Fick, Nikolaj Feifer and Tina Rygh will join us on stage to give us insights in their ways of working with series in the Nordic market while showing us examples from their recent works.

Though not completely new, there’s a recent and intense focus on their work as they are set to release new series in 2022.

Swedish writer Lisa Ambjörn has created the popular series Young Royals, a massive hit among a young global audience, and Sjukt (Sick) a comedy drama about Alice who survives cervical cancer, and now wants to find the meaning of lifeoh, and find out if her now potentially ‘shortened vagina’ actually works or not.

Norwegian writer Tina Rygh has a focus on the intersection of humor and dark topics in storytelling with her recently premiered series Nede (Below). With quirky and humorous series like Basic Bitch and Sigurd Can’t Get Laid in her repetoire, Tina Rygh is manifesting her name in the dark humor genre where the viewers find themselves laughing at the most inappropriate scenes and themes.

Danish director Amalie Næsby Fick and head writer Nikolaj Feifer, the team behind the Netflix series Skruk (Baby Fever), is also joining the stage to fulfill our Nordic dream team of storytellers. Having both been affected by fertility issues, Amalie Næsby Fick and Nikolaj Feifer hope to make it easier for us to talk about all thedilemmas and challenges when we talk about having babies and fertility treatments.

When we look at contemporary Nordic dramas, these are some of the creators to keep an eye on right now. Come have a look.
